WHAT IS A MALA?

A Mala is a strand of 108 beads. It may also be called a "Mala Necklace, Japa Mala, Mala Beads or Buddhist Prayer Beads".  Malas are not only beautiful, but also they are representations of yourself and your intentions.

Traditionally, they are used for meditation and prayer similar to how rosaries are used in the Catholic faith. However, anyone can use or wear Mala Beads...regardless of faith or whether or not you meditate.

Simply wearing a Mala that you connect with is a step towards self-love and living a life filled with intention!

You’ll often also find wrist Malas made with 54 or 27 beads, half and a quarter of the 108, respectively. Malas are made out of a variety of materials including crystals, seeds, stones, pearls, and wood.

Regardless of the Mala you choose, what is most important is the intentions you use it for and how often you use it with meditation or just simply wear it as a reminder of your intentions.
